Steven G. Shapiro

Steven Shapiro’s practice is concentrated in the area of criminal defense litigation. He is a 1992 graduate of the J. Reuben Clark School of Law at Brigham Young University having also received his Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in both Spanish and Political Science.

Steven joins the firm as head of the Criminal Litigation Section after thirteen years of criminal defense practice with the Salt Lake Legal Defenders Association. His criminal litigation experience ranges from representation of indigent defendants in death penalty cases to misdemeanor traffic offenses. He is a graduate of the Trial Practice Institute of the National Criminal Defense College in Macon, Georgia. Steven is fluent in Spanish and has extensive experience representing Spanish-speaking foreign nationals.

Steven is admitted to practice in both state and federal court in Utah, Washington, and Idaho.
